Loan Counseling

Entrance Counseling

First time Direct Loan borrowers must complete entrance counseling.  Studentaid.gov, the US Department of Education's Direct Loan website, provides an entrance counseling tool that provides students the necessary information required before a student borrows a loan and, upon completion, it sends an automatic notification to the school the student designates.

Undergraduate students: please select the option specific to undergraduate students.

Graduate/professional students:  please select the option specific to graduate/professional students.  This is required for first time Unsubsidized and Grad Plus loan borrowers.

Exit Counseling

As a Direct loan borrower, you must complete Exit Counseling when you withdraw, drop below half-time enrollment, or graduate.  The exit counseling at studentaid.gov will satisfy the requirements for Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and Grad Plus loans.

Other Loan (non-Direct Loans) Exit Counseling

As a Federal Perkins, Lew Wentz, Nursing Student , Health Professions, and/or institutional loan borrower, you must complete Exit Counseling when you withdraw, drop below half-time enrollment, or graduate. Our office contracts this service with ECSI, with whom borrowers will work in repayment.
